Supplies:

8 ½ inch X 11 inch foundation (muslin, onsaburg) 8 ½ inch X 11 inch batting or felt DMC #5 Pearl Cotton in:	Sharp embroidery needle Vanishing ink pen
310 for divider lines, eyes, lettering 319 for apple leaf 355 for girl's grin 498 for red (odd) flag stripes, "A", apple and girl's collar	738 for beige (even) flag stripes 783 for star and "C" 801 for girl's hair and apple stem 930 for blue star panel, "B" and girl's shirt

Instructions:

Using a backlight source (light box or a sunny window) center pattern on foundation and trace pattern with vanishing ink pen. Pin or tack foundation to batting. Back stitch all divider lines and "1+2=3" with 310. Back stitch apple leaf with 319 and girl's grin with 355. Back stitch red (odd)flag stripes, "A", girl's collar and the apple with 498. Back stitch beige (even) flag stripes with 738. Back stitch girl's hair and apple stem with 801. Back stitch star panel, "B" and the girl's shirt with 930. To finish: the stitchery can be made into a pillow or a quick log cabin quilted frame can be sewn around the edges for a wall hanging.
