![]() | "Beware! The time is near in which the witches do appear." That's what the man's sandwich board reads. This night light is made from a digital collage I did and then transferred to fabric. The night light will come to you with a 5 watt bulb and an on/off switch. Measurements for this night light are 5.5 inches high, 5 inches wide and 3 inches deep. SOLD! |
| Spooky Brooster is my first Halloween piece for 2005. Spooky, a ghostie cousin to Penny and Priddy, is the best kind of ghost to have around...cute AND friendly. She stands seven and a half inches tall and has a cute little kickstand tail. She is holding a soldered glass collage with various funky novelty fibers and little letter charms that spell out "spooky" and "boo." She is one of a kind. $55.00

I etched the glass with one of my little jackolantern characters. The pale olive background field reads jack-o'-lantern, ignis fatuus, will-o'-the-wisp. I painted the rustic wood frame with a rusty, terra cotta color wash.
The look of this piece is versatile in that the visual impact changes significantly depending on the type of lighting used in its display area. It appears very opaque in a sunlight only lighting situation and more translucent with incandescent lighting. Overall measurements of the frame are six and a quarter inches square and 15/16 of an inch deep. The glass measures two and a half inches square. |

Each set of three ornaments is made to order from painted muslin and grapevine so if you would like two black ones and one orange or vice versa just let me know.

Strange bedfellows, I know, but they are the best of buddies. Frank the rabbit, Bub the devil and Jack the jack'olantern are all painted and stained muslin. Their bucket is painted canvas. The bucket is stuffed full of cinnamon colored excelsior and the pumpkins have cinnamon sticks for stems. This group of pals makes for a great display together or split apart and tucked into nooks around the house. These guys are fun and funky Halloween folk art.

Jasper is a dear little jackolantern clown who takes care to dress to the nines (or thirteens as the case may be). Being a creature of Halloween himself, he's proud to hold his handmade copper and aluminum sign...plus it sets off his new hat perfectly. Jasper's outfit is tailored just for him with a black tulle collar and a wool hat that's embellished with novelty fibers. He is painted muslin and his features are painted as well. Jasper is another that teeters on top of a candy cup, without the aid of any adhesive...just some plain old elbow grease and ingenuity. With his hat on, he and his candy cup stand eleven and half inches tall. He is one of a kind.

Up for grabs here is a great piece of funky Halloween folk art. The black cat, little green witch and the pasty little ghoul are, in a nutshell, Siamese triplets...same body, three heads, three sets of 'shoulders' and three sets of polymer clay arms. The black cat has a painted nose with a stitched mouth...around his neck is a collar with a tiny metal rimmed tag of
|
| my making that says, "See No." The little witch is Matilda and she has a stitched nose, snaps for eyes and a BIG painted and stitched grin, her necklace has 31 orange glass beads and a tag that reads, "Hear No." Lastly is little Jezebella...her nose is painted as are her eyes with big black snaps stitched on in the middle. Jezebella’s necklace has six green glass beads and a tag that reads "Speak No." Both girls have wool hair. Now, whether it’s evil they’re not having anything to do with, I couldn’t tell you...BUT I’m almost positive it’s not mischief they’re avoiding...I mean look at them...that’s just a whole mess of trouble brewing in that coffin (I think the coffin is made from mesquite wood, maybe pine...anyway, I stained the outside and painted the inside black with orange and white accents) they are perched in! As usual, no glue was used in the assembly of this piece...just some plain ol’ ingenuity! A wonderful one of a kind piece of folk art! | |
