wednesday already...

Unfortunately all the indie quilt shops in my immediate area have closed down leaving me with Joanne's and Hobby Lobby if I want to buy local.
Molly and I had time today so we googled quilt shops in our expanded area and found one that wasn't too far away. We made a trip down to Carrollton to visit The Old Craft Store where the ladies were super sweet and very helpful. They invited us to a party this Saturday to celebrate being a brand new featured shop in Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Sampler magazine. They also pointed me to a couple other shops in my area, one of which was directly on our way home! It seemed like a waste of gasoline not to stop into Quilt Country and check it out, so we did that too. And that's where Molly found some polka dot Minkie she loved and claimed as her own. As seen in the above pic, she hugged that bolt of pink fuzzy goodness, put her head down on it, proclaimed she needed it. But she already has a blanket that feels just like it and she knows it too, because she told me it felt just like her "pink bean-kit". In any event, she had all the ladies at the counter beside themselves. They all wondered how I'd get her out of the shop without that bolt of fabric, to which I thought, "hide and watch." I offered to let her carry the fabric I'd purchased and that was good enough for her.
Time to get dinner on the table and kids headed toward bedtime. After that it's time for fun with fire for me! I have some woodland scenes and halloweenie business to attend to :).
