it's been raining for four days now...

And I am not complaining one bit. We need the rain...it's been a bit (or a lot) dry lately. Plus I've been busy inside working on swaps that are due right this minute!

thumbelina with a friendly fish, a butterfly and lily pad

I sent these off to Mary Ann for her itty bitty book club fairy tale swap. The card base is water color paper with a wash of blues, stamped with a Cosmo Cricut Mr. Campy wave. Thumbelina is actually a flower fairy stamp I carved a couple years ago stamped on scalloped medallions I cut out with my Cricut machine. She is hand colored with water color markers. The tag with the butterfly and fish (who helped her escape the mean toad mom on her lily pad) are all one stamp I carved for this swap. I randomly scattered embossing powder over the little tags for a watery effect and added the ribbons and yarns for some extra texture.

I am also working like mad to finish my quilt for Doll Quilt Swap 7.

a slight miscalculation

I had to put it down and walk a way for a day when I realized I'd failed to add seam allowances for the both the top AND bottom of a piece that I sewed and quilted the heck out of...absolutely no going back on that part, so I'm going to have to accommodate for my error on the base quilt which is proving a little tricky because I really don't want to mess up my original proportions, but I also don't want the quilt to look odd either. I'll let you all be the judge tomorrow or Wednesday...
