where am i? what day is this?

my hormones and i would like to apologize ahead of time for this meandering, possibly fragmented post.

Okay. In my nesting frenzy almost two weeks have managed to sneak by without a peep! I am blissfully unaware of most goings on around me as I've been laundering baby gear, making baby gifts for friends, keeping up with school stuff for Logan and Caleb, and so and so forth. Aside from that I'm secretly freaking out over introducing baby number three into all this madness! My brain is so jammed with hormones right now that I think it might be better if I came equipped with a mute button until my levels even out after Molly is born ☺. Although, I do feel like I have managed to keep my mouth pretty well under control when it was really necessary. Did I mention the rambling? My rambling is annoying me so I can only imagine what it's doing to other people...you see a mute button would be lovely. Anyway, on to other business...

Last week while I was sitting in the pick-up line waiting for Logan to be released from school, my phone rang and to my surprise and delight it was my friend Dawn! What a doll she is. Of course I knew this already from our emails and correspondence over the last couple of years, but to talk on the phone and put a voice to the face was a real treat. She caught me on a day when a mute button might have been nice, but I hope I didn't sound too lunatic!

a baby gift for a friend

I made this for a friend's new baby. I figured it would be fine to post before I actually mail because I have several friends with new babies either already here or on their way so it will still be a surprise when it gets to its intended recipient. I started out making the sundress using a McCall's pattern, but the fine people at McCall's are all smoking crack if they think anyone has the patience to use bias tape to finish TINY arm holes and leg holes. So I altered the pattern to suit my way of thinking and it turned out way cute if I do say so myself. My sanity was saved and the dress is completely reversible too. The bloomers are reversible as well; however, I am driving myself nuts trying to thread elastic through the leg holes due to the double seams. The next pair I make will have to be sewn differently...live and learn.
