nesting? sort of...

Lynn spent this weekend working in our yard, AKA the weed jungle, and I cleaned out more drawers and closets. I am still amazed by all the crap we keep. I opened drawers in our bedroom that probably haven't been opened in three years...never missed a thing in them, AT ALL. Not even a passing thought like, "I wonder whatever happened to those 14 pairs of VS underwear and those 14 matching bras..." Apparently I was collecting bras and underwear just in case someone decided that undergarments could no longer be manufactured. Some still had the stinking tags on them! Of course none of them fit me anymore, thanks to age and breastfeeding, but that's okay. Somebody will be able to use the new stuff and the old stuff had a lovely burial service before it was all ceremoniously thrown away. After all the drawers were sifted through and put back together I tackled our master bathroom linen closet, AKA the land of entirely too many towels and bedding sets. I can't even tell you how many towels where in this closet...I know we haven't used most of them since we moved into this house over four years ago. We all have our favorites and seeing as there are four of us and I use two towels that means there are five large towels, a few wash cloths, a few hand towels and the towels for the guest bathrooms that work the rotation and that is it. But we still have entirely too many towels! The extras are waiting to be dropped off at Catholic Charities. Same goes for the four sets of king size bedding sets. Ugh. Too much stuff! The good news is that with every drawer and closet I get through all the clutter around our house is finding a home. This makes me happy. And I'm sure you know, when momma's happy, everybody's happy.

because i haven't carved or embossed anything in ages...
i carved this last week to stamp on swag stuffs for the paperbag swap rr i'm participating in.

Aside from the massive purge still going on around here, I've been sewing baby gifts for friends (pictures coming soon), working on the paperbag swag round-robin swap, washing baby stuff, getting the crib and bassinet put back together, and debating on whether or not I should attempt to make a new, girly cover for the infant carseat.
