pill bugs...

Today Logan discovered pill bugs. He calls them rollie pollie rollie pollie olie bugs. At first he found only one and was worried that the bug must have lost his family. Logan brought it in to the kitchen to show me his new bug friend and to ask me for help in finding his friend's rollie pollie rollie pollie olie parents. We went outside, looked around, found some smaller ones...rollie pollie rollie pollie olie baby brothers. Then Logan worried that his new bug friend "really, really misses his rollie pollie rollie pollie olie grandparents." So we had to find them too.

I had forgotten what fun pill bugs are. I have a friend whose mother takes great glee is telling stories of her wee little girl eating pill bugs. Mmmm, crunchy. I can't wait until I find a doodlebug hole to show him.
