illustration friday: friendship

I found this week's theme to be a challenge. There are about a million and one directions to go with this topic. I'd start thinking of a version to work up and the more I thought about it the more complicated it would become. While dozing off to sleep Tuesday night I chanted a list of synonyms for friendship: affinty, loyalty, love, etc. Finally the claddagh image came to mind. I don't think it was a wakeful epiphany because I forgot about it temporarily. There I sat at my desk yesterday, staring at a blank piece of paper, with that feeling in my gut that I knew I had had a good idea but I just couldn't think of it. I started chanting synonyms again and voila! Here it is, my contribution for friendship:
