a month of softies: vintage catwalk

Meet Miss Ruby Mae Smith, my submission for Loobylu's A Month of Softies.



My original inspiration came from memories of my great grandmother, Florence (aka Flossie, very vintage all by itself, dontcha think?). Ruby is a simple little pancake style doll. She is made of cotton muslin and has little button eyes, a puffed satin stitched nose and wool hair. I think the knotted strand of pearls adds an extra bit of vintage flair, ala June Cleaver, et al.
